Electronic Logbook (ELB)

The Electronic Logbook (ELB) provides a fishing activity database that replaces the paper Daily Fishing Log for trawl catcher vessels fishing in the groundfish fishery in the Alaska region. The ELB accepts GPS input and uses it to keep a historical vessel track. Hauls are entered on a daily basis and the combination of GPS and user input is used to print hard copy logbook pages, electronic export files for NMFS and reports for skippers and plant managers. The program also exports both vessel tracks and fishing activity to the CatchPlotter which can display the vessel activity on a variety of maps.

The Electronic Logbook (ELB) program has been updated to allow tracking of Salmon avoidance for the Bering Sea pollock fishery.
